Song for this week - ongoing life

We have just begun a new part of our series in the Wisdom literature. Here is a wonderful portrayal of the key themes in the life of Job by Michael Card. Like the book itself and the theme of suffering, this takes a little time but is well worth the listen.

Few of us can imagine coping with the losses that Job experienced but we look around at our broken world and realise that many are suffering terribly right now. Part of the message of this book and of the Christian faith is that God knows this, grieves along with us and DOES care. He wants us to take action where we can but also to trust him and his character.

FAITH FOR TODAY: LIVING AND SHARING THE LOVE OF JESUS

FEELING ISOLATED?

WORRIED ABOUT OUR WORLD AND PEOPLE IN NEED?

RELATIONSHIP STRUGGLES?

We believe the church is a community of people and that we need one another so we celebrate this by getting together often - online or in person. Get in touch with us and find out how you can share this sense of community

WHO IS JESUS?

WORRIED ABOUT OUR WORLD AND PEOPLE IN NEED?

WORRIED ABOUT OUR WORLD AND PEOPLE IN NEED?

We believe Jesus was a real human being so he knows what it is to be like us. But we also believe he was fully God so his death has cosmic significance - leading to his rising from death to prove nothing is greater than him. He is therefore worth listening to and following and he asks us all to trust in Him.

FAITH FOR TODAY - What this means in the year ahead

we seek: - To be a caring and growing community of followers of Jesus
In practice, we commit to being a people who care well for our fellow believers and to increase in our love for our neighbour. We want to respond to God’s mission to be fruitful in doing good and in seeing others come to faith.

To have a place of our own which acts to serve the church and community
In practice, this means working towards this goal together in prayer and hope that such a resource will further the Kingdom of God. Whether the current plan works out or we have to think again, we are committed to finding a place that serves our needs and the community in sharing the gospel, through connection, care and communication

To encourage active, relevant faith, for all ages and stages
In practice, this means faith is being worked out by everybody, everywhere, every-day, and that we grapple with today’s culture and tough questions

To be a welcoming community - accepting all people with a compassion that faces the complexity of our culture
In practice, this means accepting all those who come to us at the point of their need and lifestyle, with a particular concern for the mental health needs of our community. Then, journeying with people in truthful discipleship, we develop an honouring and biblical walk with God

To be a positive influence in caring for God’s World
In practice, this means talking regularly about our climate as God’s creation and that we are given the task of being good stewards and gardeners. Then we seek to take action in our individual and corporate life to reduce carbon use, reduce waste, seek social and climate justice and resist consumerism. We want to act justly, love mercy, walk humbly before God
